"Doll-Face" Himalayan
Lilac-Cream Point Kittens
Page 2
These are pictures of our typical traditional /
"doll-face" Himalayan Lilac-Cream Point Females. Unfortunately, these
pictures were not taken after cleaning under her eyes and there is a bit of
staining. As the doll-face type kittens grow, however, they have larger
tear ducts than the "show-quality" or pug nose type do and their tears do not
spill all over their faces and stain their beautiful white fur. We were
blessed with our third lilac-cream point female, and the second of the doll-face
type in our April 29, 2004 litter. We are keeping her to replace our
oldest breeding female, Silky, next year when she is old enough for breeding.
I will be adding lots of pictures of her, for sure!

Notice the characteristic pink paw & toe
pads of the Lilac and Lilac-Cream point Himalayans.

Unfortunately, we could not
clean all of the stain from under the eyes, but this is temporary with the
"doll-face" type, however, as they grow and their tear ducts get larger with
this type, unlike the "show-quality" "extreme" type nose and tear ducts.
They also do not have the sniffly noses of the "extreme" type
Persian/Himalayans.

Oooo, I have to lick my lips
after you gave me my KMR formula Mommy! Yum!
I really love it here at "Grammy's" house
with the soft padded blanket that is especially for me and my brothers and
sisters! It is so soft and comfortable here, and Grammy gives me lots of
hugs, kisses, and presents, just like you do Mommy! I am looking forward
to going home to New Hampshire with my new family, too! They have two
pretty little girls to play with, too!

This is our new addition to our kitty population - "Layla" - when she was five weeks old. She will be our next breeding mom to replace our Blue-Cream Point mom, Silky, when we retire her at 8 years old this year. Layla is a doll-face Lilac-Cream Point Himalayan and we
just have to keep her for our next breeding female to carry on those wonderful genes! She is a very unique colored kitten and will be absolutely gorgeous as an adult because her cream markings are striped through the lilac markings on her nose. When two color points are mixed together in just the females, it is also called "tortie point". This
happens occasionally with our blue cream points and is always beautiful and unique as no two "tortie points" look the same. When you have a tortie point kitten/cat, you have a very unique and special being that will stand out as a "one of a kind" and a special treasure. Layla is only our third Lilac-Cream Point female and the only one with this particular unique marking, although our first Lilac-Cream Point - who can be seen on the first page
of this Lilac-Cream Point kitten section - has a stripe on her nose, too, but they are each different and unique. She is not "show-quality" like our first Lilac-Cream Point kitten, because of her "doll-face" type nose which is slightly longer, and considered to be "pet-quality" by the Cat Fanciers Association (CFA). Our first Lilac-Cream Point kitten, "Violet", is owned by a Persian breeder in New Hampshire who appreciates the unique beauty of
her little angel, whom she loves dearly. This page shows our second Lilac-Cream Point first, and now our third, Layla, both the "doll-face" types with the longer noses that we prefer. Most breeders would not breed her because she is not what the CFA considers "show-quality". She is the Traditional Himalayan "show-quality" that were genetically engineered in the 1920's and were purposely bred to have a nose from the Siamese part of their
genetics, not to be too "extreme" like the Persian part of their genetics. Her other traits are the CFA considered show-quality with only her nose being considered pet-quality. We do not care for the CFA show-quality standard and raise the Traditional Himalayan "doll-face" kittens intentionally. There is a "Traditional Cat Association" (TCA), that considers the Traditional Himalayan such as this, to be show-quality by their standards of
the traditional types of cat breeds, not just the Himalayans. There are only three Traditional Himalayan breeders registered in the US today. We hope to register with them ourselves, too, in addition to our CFA registrations. For an explanation of the traditional Himalayan, please see our section titled Traditional Himalayan for an article by the "Cat
Fancy Magazine" which describes the traditional type Himalayan and that there are only a "handful" of Traditional Himalayan breeders in the country, of which we are one. This article may be found by following the link on the side bar to the left or by following this kitty and mouse animation >
