The Himalayan Blue-point is one of the best known and
instantly recognizable colorations of the breed. The beautiful darkened
"blue" areas around the ears and tail contrast with the underlying off-white
fur to provide a natural color mosaic that is instantly inspiring - an
intrinsic portrait completed by the blue mask of the the face. The
Blue-point is truly the standard that inspires the acclimation "Now that's a
Himalayan!"
The
following pictures are of some of our favorite Blue-points collected from
litters over the past several years. All the kittens shown are healthy
and happy in their designated homes - and as with all our kittens are
currently providing their families with continuous love and joy. The paw markings in
different colors that you will see on some pictures are our way of
identifying each individual kitten for pictures especially when we cannot
recognize their unique characteristics that we come to know and love about
each and every kitten that we raise. It also enables us to make sure that the
kittens weighed each day are the same ones consistently when first born and
they all look all white. I will make an effort to post new pictures on
a regular basis, so that you may see different ones online from time to time
visiting our website. "GODZILLA" KITTY ATTACK!

BLUE-POINT GIRL AT 7-WEEKS -
Most of our solid Blue Point kittens, without the Blue-Cream mixing the cream into the blue points for a "tortie" color with two colors in the points that is only genetically possible with the female kittens/cats, are males.
This kitten is a female Blue-Cream Point, like most if not all of our females with the blue points are. She does not have a unique cream stripe on her nose like the pictures of "Angel" and the other Blue-Cream Points shown in the Blue-Cream Point section. If you look closely at this female's paw and toe pads in
this "Godzilla Kitty" photo, however, you can see that some of her paw and toe pads
are pink, that would indicate that there is cream point coloring on the paws or that it is still too early for all of her paw and toe pads to turn gray. They do usually show a darker gray at this age with a male full blue point, though.
There is a little bit of discoloration under her eyes from the eye drainage,
however, this will get less and probably go away completely since she has a
"doll-face" nose, that gives her the larger tear ducts as explained elsewhere on
the website. As she grows, the tear ducts will get larger and most of our
kittens/ cats just get little "crusties" in the corners of their eyes, much like
we humans do in the morning. This is a very young Blue Point baby at less than a week old that shows how you can tell that you have a Blue Point almost immediately. Even at birth when all the kittens look just white, the blue points are just a tiny shade darker, like a very light
gray and just a tad darker than the all white color of the Blue-Eyed whites, the cream points that do not show any cream point until it starts showing on their ears at a few weeks old, and the Lilac and Lilac-Cream Point kittens that start showing a slight coloration on their ears at about a week old that is much lighter than the blue point markings and overall body color, but darker than that of the cream points that take a few weeks to show any color in
their points at all. Our "tortie point" kittens, with the two colors in their points, are the only "tortie point" colors that we have had in our years of breeding. So far, all of our females other than a couple cream points, have been the "tortie points", and have not had any straight Blue or Lilac Point females, to date.
This is the only solid Blue Point kitten that we received from our wonderful moms and dad from the current two litters born on April 29th and May 16, 2004. The April 29th litter also has two females, who are Blue-Cream Points, but are not as obvious as some of the "tortie points" that we have had through the years without the unique stripe down their nose, like our Silky, one of the moms
who has quite a bit of cream on her nose. However, you can tell that the two Blue-Cream Point females from the April 29th litter are Blue-Cream points by their overall lighter body color and some white patches in their feet. As they get older, the paws will show the most cream because where the paws have the cream point, they will get a more cream/coral overtone and the toe pads in the cream part of their feet with stay pink, and the blue point
areas will become a gray color like the solid Blue Point male littermates, such as this boy above and below. The picture above also shows a couple BEW kittens from the May 16th litter and his Lilac Point littermate behind him
in the picture above.
This is the same Blue Point Male from the picture above that
is more of a close-up to see his features more clearly. As you can see, he is a solid Blue Point compared to the Blue-Cream Point females in the first picture on this page and in the Blue-Cream Point Section of this website. You will see in that section that the females have whiter areas on their paws which will turn cream/ coral colored as they grow. At this time, they would show if there was going to be any cream striping through their
blue point face masks down their nose like mom, Silky, and the other Blue-Cream Point kittens, such as "Angel" in the Blue-Cream Point Section of this website.

"Good boy!" The Blue Point Male at the front of the litterbox has been using the box by himself since he was
4 to 5 weeks old along with his Lilac Point brother in the rear of the litterbox trying to show that he is a big boy by climbing into the big litterbox like the big kitties do! '*-/
